10-point checklist: is your small business website losing enquiries?
Most small business websites do not lose enquiries because of design. They lose them because of small, fixable problems that nobody notices. Go through this list on your phone, ideally in the evening, as if you were a new customer.
- Are your opening hours on the homepage? They are often the first thing people look for.
- Is your phone number tap-to-call? On a phone, a number that has to be copied is a number that often isn't called.
- Does your "email us" link go to a real inbox? Click it. Some templates still point to placeholder addresses like info@mysite.com, and those enquiries go nowhere.
- Does your "Book" button actually book? If it leads to a general contact page, say so, or link to real online booking.
- Can someone ask a question without phoning? A short form or a chat makes a big difference after hours.
- Do you answer the top three questions on the page? For clinics that is usually availability, prices and how to book.
- Is your contact form short? Name, contact and message is usually enough.
- Does the site work on a phone? Text should be readable without zooming.
- Is the site secure (HTTPS)? Browsers warn visitors about sites that are not.
- Does Google show a sensible description? A missing meta description means Google picks random text from the page.

Our free website check looks at most of these points on your homepage in about 20 seconds and tells you which ones to fix first. It does not need a sign-up.
What about after-hours questions?
Even a perfect website cannot answer a specific question at 9pm. That is where a small AI assistant helps: it answers routine questions from your approved information and emails you every enquiry with a name and number, so nothing waits until someone happens to call back.
